Terms & Conditions

The terms governing the cleaning services we provide.

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the provision of exterior cleaning services by GEMS REACH AND WASH CLEANING LIMITED (Company No. 17135499), a company registered in England and Wales, with its registered office at 50 Brent Lane, Dartford, Kent DA1 1QW, trading as Blackheath Window Cleaners ("we", "us", "our").

By requesting a quote, booking a service, or engaging us to carry out any work, you ("the customer") agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Our Services

We provide exterior cleaning services including, but not limited to: window cleaning, gutter cleaning, fascia and soffit cleaning, UPVC cleaning, patio jet washing, downpipe unblocking, roof moss removal and treatment, and sign cleaning.

All services are subject to availability and our assessment of the property. We reserve the right to decline any job that we consider unsafe, unsuitable, or outside our capabilities.

2. Quotes and Pricing

All quotes are provided free of charge and are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. Quotes are based on the information provided and our initial assessment. We reserve the right to revise a quote if the actual work required differs significantly from what was described or if access conditions are materially different from those anticipated.

Prices may vary depending on the size of the property, level of soiling, access requirements and frequency of service.

3. Booking and Confirmation

A booking is confirmed when we have accepted your request in writing (including by text message or email). We will provide you with a scheduled date and time window. We will endeavour to arrive within the agreed window but cannot guarantee exact arrival times.

4. Payment

Payment is due upon completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept cash, bank transfer (BACS), and other payment methods as agreed. For regular scheduled services, payment terms will be agreed at the outset.

Late payment may result in suspension of services. We reserve the right to charge statutory interest on overdue invoices in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

5. Cancellation and Rescheduling

We require at least 24 hours' notice for cancellation or rescheduling of appointments. Failure to provide adequate notice may result in a cancellation charge equivalent to 50% of the quoted service price.

We reserve the right to reschedule appointments due to adverse weather conditions, equipment failure, or other unforeseen circumstances. We will notify you as soon as possible and offer an alternative date.

6. Access and Customer Responsibilities

The customer is responsible for ensuring safe and clear access to all areas to be cleaned prior to our arrival. This includes:

  • Removing obstacles, garden furniture, vehicles or other items that may obstruct access.
  • Securing pets indoors during the service.
  • Ensuring that relevant gates, side passages and access points are unlocked.
  • Informing us of any fragile items, known structural defects, or hazards on the property.

We will not be held responsible for any damage caused by inadequate access or failure to disclose known hazards.

7. Health and Safety

We operate a no-ladder policy wherever possible, using reach-and-wash water-fed pole systems to clean at height safely. Where ladders or other access equipment are required, we will conduct a risk assessment before proceeding.

We reserve the right to decline or suspend work if we consider the working environment to be unsafe.

8. Liability and Insurance

We carry full public liability insurance. In the event of any damage caused directly by our negligence, we will assess and address the issue promptly.

We will not be held liable for:

  • Pre-existing damage to the property or its fixtures.
  • Damage caused by faulty materials, structures or pre-existing defects.
  • Damage resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
  • Any consequential, indirect or economic loss.

Our total liability in connection with any service shall not exceed the value of the fees paid for that service.

9. Satisfaction Guarantee

We take great pride in our work. If you are not satisfied with the results, please contact us within 48 hours of the service being completed and we will return to rectify the issue at no additional charge, subject to our assessment of the complaint.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including text, images, logos and design, is owned by or licensed to GEMS REACH AND WASH CLEANING LIMITED and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute or use any content without our prior written consent.

11. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. The current version will always be available on our website. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
